About the programme

The aim of the Animation MA is to train storytellers who can create fascinating stories for different platforms and engage audience at a wide scale. You will be able to apply your expertise innovatively as proactive participant in the communication, research and development processes that arise in various areas of the creative industry in collaboration with representatives of other disciplines. With us, you can learn how to tell fascinating stories and build captivating visual worlds and enchanting characters. The programme helps you to find your artistic voice and teaches you how to create stories that matter.

Content development is at the heart of the programme, which teaches students the different roles and processes of animation production as well as and the use of immersive and emerging technologies (AR, VR, MR). The main pillars of the Animation MA programme are developing independent perspectives, finding an individual artistic voice and creative method, and mastering a responsible design approach.

MOME provides a budget, through different grants and partnerships, for developing and producing diploma films. After graduation, MOME takes care of the afterlife of the films by submitting them to festivals and helping the freshly graduated filmmakers with the distribution and promotion.

Graduates may join international training programmes, such as the MEDIA-supported ASF, to build and grow their professional network, find possible coproduction partners, and enter the international arena.

Rooted in sustainability and innovation, thematic challenges connected to all of MOME’s MA programmes will equip students with the creative tools and knowledge needed to design meaningful, future-ready solutions. Through hands-on projects, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a forward-thinking approach, you will explore new ways to create resilient and inclusive spaces, ideas, objects, art and more, while redefining the role of design in global transformation.
